We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Southpaw is trying to escape the position but Deathcrush is controlling the position. Deathcrush misses with the ground and pound. Deathcrush in side control, throwing shots but Southpaw defends. Black misses with a left hand and Southpaw cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Southpaw steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Black. A big right from Southpaw misses. A little jabbing left from Black on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Black looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Black misses with a left hand enabling Southpaw to counter with a crisp jab. Southpaw throws a leg kick that is checked and Black connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Black checks a leg kick. It seemed like Black was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Black throws a hook to the side of Southpaw's head but Southpaw sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Southpaw with a nice calf kick. Good shot there by Southpaw. Southpaw wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Elmars has him pressed against the cage. Elmars creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Elmars tries for a takedown but Southpaw manages to get underhooks.

Elmars has been working on his balance at LA FIGHT BARN, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Southpaw. Southpaw has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Southpaw swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. A quick step to the side and Elmars tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
