Vinkovic bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Mercado looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
You can see the frustration on Mercado's face as Vinkovic controls the position.
Mercado really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vinkovic. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mercado is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Vinkovic asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Jones ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jones is defended easily by Vinkovic.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Vinkovic has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Jones really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
