Hayes bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Chabot's head.#TD#
Hayes gets caught flat footed, as Chabot shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Chabot is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hayes felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

The referee asks Chabot politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Chabot prefers to stall for the moment though.

Chabot seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hayes for as long as he can get away with.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Chabot, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Hayes sizes up Jackson with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. #CUT#It looks like Donte Jackson has been cut.
Hayes slips a jab from Jackson.
Hayes circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Jackson tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Hayes wins by KO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Freedman Hayes!
Freedman Hayes tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool. |
