#R1# Chabot keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hayes. Hayes bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Chabot's head.#TD# Hayes gets caught flat footed, as Chabot shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Chabot is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chabot pushing down on Hayes's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. #T1# Chabot has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Chabot controlling from mount. #T2# Chabot's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#T3# Hayes is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Chabot controlling the pace for now. Further stalling from Chabot.#T4# A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Ernest Chabot dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.#R2##TD# Chabot closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Chabot lands in his opponent's guard. Chabot pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hayes is keeping the position for now. Chabot slips nicely into half guard. Hayes tries to roll over but Chabot keeps him under control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chabot trying to pass the guard but Hayes defending well. Hayes felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Chabot wants to advance to full mount but Hayes doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. #T1# Hayes can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Chabot controls the pace. Chabot passes easily into side control. Nice work. The referee asks Chabot politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Chabot prefers to stall for the moment though. Chabot has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Hayes tries to improve position but can't. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Chabot happy to just control the position for now. #T2# The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Chabot passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Hayes! Chabot takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.#T3# This is a sustained period of stalling by Chabot. Chabot continues to hold on tight.#T4# Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Chabot seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hayes for as long as he can get away with. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!#R3# A lazy left from Hayes finds it's target.#TD# Chabot shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Hayes is trying to escape back to his feet but Chabot uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Hayes prevents Chabot from improving position. Chabot definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Chabot is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#T1# Chabot working away. Chabot controls the position from side control. Chabot continues to stall.#T2# My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Chabot is stinking the place up with his stalling. Chabot has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Hayes! Chabot takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.#T3# Chabot is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hayes can do to turn this around? Chabot moves to back control. Chabot is riding his opponent, not letting Hayes buck him off. Hayes takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.#T4# There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Freedman Hayes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that's the end of the fight! Ernest Chabot showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Chabot, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

#R1# Hayes sizes up Jackson with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. #CUT#It looks like Donte Jackson has been cut. Hayes slips a jab from Jackson. Hayes circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Jackson tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Hayes wins by KO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Freedman Hayes! Freedman Hayes tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool. |
