Ellis shoots in for a double leg but Haggard sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Haggard keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Quinton Ellis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ellis throws a jab when Haggard was well out of range. Ellis drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. A head kick misses from Haggard. Ellis fails with the takedown. Haggard throws a head kick that misses. It looked like Ellis wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. No luck with that takedown attempt from Ellis. #R1# Santos lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Haggard tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Santos manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Haggard lands a head kick. Santos smiles back at him and beckons him forward. #CUT#It looks like Giovanni Santos has been cut. Santos swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A lazy body kick from Santos letting Haggard counter with a right hand. Santos wants to clinch. Haggard scores with a crisp jab that stopped Santos in his tracks. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Santos tries to close the distance and clinch but Haggard swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Haggard fails to land with a series of punches.
