Hooper drops down looking for a counter takedown but Emelianenko sprawls and moves away. Emelianenko is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Hooper fails to land with a series of punches.

Hooper attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Nakabisha misses with a hook. Hooper ducked under it nicely. Hooper is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Nakabisha swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. A shot to the liver by Hooper. Beautiful body shot. Hooper looks to land a left hand but Nakabisha moved out of range nicely. It looked like Nakabisha wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Hooper moves out of range of the body kick. Nakabisha tests Hooper's chin there with a solid looking shot. Nakabisha moves in looking to clinch but Hooper pushes him off. Hooper swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Nakabisha counters with a nice body kick. Nakabisha changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Hooper lands with a nice combination. Nakabisha backs away looking to recover. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nakabisha slips under a jab from Hooper. It looked like Nakabisha was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Hooper. Hooper has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. A bone on bone clash there as Hooper blocks the leg kick.

Shinji Nakabisha has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jarrah Hooper. Hooper moves out of range of the body kick. That was a close round but I would say that Shinji Nakabisha will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Emelianenko is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Stanley Emelianenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A jab from Hooper finds it's way through Emelianenko's defenses. #TD2# Hooper shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hooper was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Hooper working away. Hooper lands a decent elbow from side control. #T4# Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Retsu takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

#R1##TD# Booty changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hooper looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hooper is not content to let Booty control the position. Hooper tries to buck Booty off but Booty is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Booty works to advance to full mount. Hooper defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Hooper really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Booty. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Hooper tries to reverse the position but Booty maintains control. Poor strikes thrown by Booty there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
