Smith takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Log felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.#SU# Smith decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. #TD2# Log gets a double leg takedown into Smith's guard. Log has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Smith is proving hard to escape from. Smith definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Smith keeping full guard, as Log tries to pass. Log working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Log just misses with a elbow thrown towards Melendez's brow. Log lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
