Silva cracks Ashbrock with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Silva has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Silva has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Ashbrock's face.

Cooty shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Silva counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Cooty takes one to the chin there.
Silva cracks Cooty with an open hand slap.

Cooty tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Silva defends well and Cooty ends up having to push Silva into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Cooty has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Silva avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
