and Pena counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Pena slips a jab from Try. Pena throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Try throws a body shot but no joy. Pena swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Pena cracks Try with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Nice defenses there by Pena. Try just misses with a punch to the body.
Pena scores with a jab to the jaw. Pena keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Colonel closes this distance looking for a takedown but Try circles away. Try looks to throw the jab but Colonel is out of range. Try looks winded! Try missing with a left hand there. Colonel was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. #TD# Colonel shoots in and gets a takedown into Try's guard. Colonel is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.#SU# Colonel gets to his feet - Try follows without any prompting. Try waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Colonel. No luck for Colonel with that takedown attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Colonel fails with a takedown attempt from distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Erick Colonel. That's going to take a lot out of him. Try scores with a shot to the body.

That was a close round but I would say that Erick Colonel will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.#R2# Colonel shoots in looking for a takedown but Try manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Colonel's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Colonel fails to land the takedown. Try listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.#TD# Colonel closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Try tries to kick Colonel off in order to stand up. Colonel Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Try tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Colonel easily slips into full mount! Try tries to hold on but Colonel pushes him away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Try is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Try tries to reverse the position but Colonel maintains control.#T4# A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Try keeps trying to improve his position. Colonel content just to control the position here. Try is desperately trying to improve his position but Colonel has a good base and remains in mount. Colonel takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

We've been hearing that Colonel has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Try wants to sweep but Colonel has passed to side control! Horrible takedown attempt by Colonel or perhaps it was just good defense by Try, which made it look bad. Try connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Colonel momentarily.

The ref makes him back up and allows Try to get to his feet. #T3# Try throws a looping overhand right but Colonel ducks down to avoid it. Try stuffs the takedown attempt from Colonel. Colonel gets slowly back to his feet. Try throws out a counter right but Colonel avoids it with no problem. Try misses with a straight right. Try keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Try thows a left - swing and a miss! Try throws a body punch but Colonel moves out of range. Try throws out a loose jab but Colonel uses good head movement to avoid it. #TD# Colonel throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Try tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Colonel is in Try's guard. Try looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Try is trying to hold Colonel in close to prevent damage but Colonel has managed to pass into half guard.
#T4##SUB2# Try looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Try tries to roll over but Colonel keeps him under control. Try is trying to control but can't.
Midweight Try has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Erick Colonel is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Colonel controlling the action here.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Erick Colonel. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Colonel, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Try misses with a left hand letting Santorino counter with a right hand. Santorino ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. A countering left hand to the body from Santorino misses. Try looks to throw the jab but Santorino is out of range. Despite the aggression on Santorino's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Santorino moves out of range of the strikes. Santorino looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Try throws a hook but Santorino blocks it. Try misses the shot to the body. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Try looks to land a left hand but Santorino moved out of range nicely. Santorino takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

The fighters circling - Try throws out the jab but it was never going to land. And Santorino responds with a good body kick, but Try manages to step out the way in time. Craig is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Craig tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Try defends well and Craig ends up having to push Try into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Craig avoids the elbow strike from Try, against the cage.
Try lands with a short shot to the head. Try throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Craig changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Try fights it off and pushes away nicely.

He thinks about going to the ground but Craig looks back up at him and smiles so Try waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Craig has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Craig shoots for a takedown but Try saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Burt Craig. That's going to take a lot out of him. Craig gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Try gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Craig is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Try throws a hook to the side of Stonk's head but Stonk sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Stonk jabs Try to the body, keeping him at a distance. A big left from Stonk misses. Try takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Try throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Stonk sees it coming and avoids it easily. Try cracks Stonk with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Stonk cracks Try with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Try throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Stonk on the side of the head. Try throws a lazy uppercut

Try bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. No joy there for Stonk, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

This has been an exciting period of action! Stonk does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Stonk cracks Try on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Try falls backwards against the cage. Stonk follows up with more strikes that drop Try to his knees. Stonk keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Try! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Stinky Stonk! Stinky Stonk decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way. |

#R1# Try lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
#TD2# Try gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Hamland lands a couple of decent looking shots. Hamland postures up and lands a big shot to Try's brow. Hamland is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Hamland postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Hamland content to stall in guard here. Hamland looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Hamland landing with the ground and pound. Try is still on wobbly legs! Can Leandro finish him? Leandro ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Try's jaw. Try's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Leandro does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.

#R1# Try throws a jab when Loman was well out of range. Loman definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Loman scores with a jab. Loman lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Try throws a hook but Loman avoids it easily. Loman feinted there with a counter leg kick. Loman feints and then cracks Try's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Try down. Loman displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Try throws out the jab. Try pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Try gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Nice defenses there by Maynard. A little jabbing left from Maynard on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Maynard ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Maynard raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Try throws a jab but it's blocked by Maynard. Maynard swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Try throws a hook to the side of Maynard's head but Maynard sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. A nice side step and Maynard releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. The crowd cheers as Try lands an impressive looking overhand right. Maynard doesn't seem phased though. Maynard moves out of range as Try strikes. Maynard throws a big counter head kick but Try avoids it with no problem. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Try throws a lazy uppercut

#CUT2#It looks like Colby Cheeser has been cut. Midweight Try seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sloppy strikes from Cheeser. Those never looked like landing. Cheeser uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Try cracks Cheeser with a hook to the temple - Cheeser is on wobbly legs here! Try swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Cheeser falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Try wins by TKO!
