Velez doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Williams. Williams wants to pass to mount but Velez is defending the position. Williams is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Velez is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Velez manages to kick QQ off! QQ jumps back into Velez's guard. #SUB# QQ thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. QQ tries to free his leg and advance position but Velez is retaining full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. QQ slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.#SUB# QQ tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. #SUB# QQ is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Velez looks calm but he's in trouble here. QQ gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Velez is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! QQ lets go of the hold and Velez can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Despite the aggression on Velez's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Deandre Velez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.#TD# Velez gets caught napping as Grodgers dives in and scores a takedown. Velez manages to retain guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Grodgers tries to free his leg and advance position but Velez is retaining full guard. Grodgers is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Velez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Grodgers is controlling him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. As Grodgers backs off Velez throws a huge counter combo but Grodgers manages to avoid it all. Velez scores with a one two! Grodgers had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Velez looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Deandre Velez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Velez throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Grodgers's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Velez dives in looking to finish as Grodgers flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Velez's strikes! Velez is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Grodgers's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Grodgers was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

#CUT2#It looks like Oswaldo Lynch has been cut. Lynch gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Lynch tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Velez is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Lynch buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Lynch!! Lynch is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Velez throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.

Velez throws a series of punches but Tronc moves out of range. Velez misses with a kick to the body #CL# and Tronc holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Tronc tries to pull guard but Velez holds him up against the cage and eventually Tronc drops back down to his feet.
#TD# Tronc pulls guard. #SUB# Tronc is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Velez defends well. Tronc is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Velez must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB# Tronc has his foot on Velez's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Velez works his way back into a safe position though. Tronc is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Velez throws a front kick aimed at Tronc's knee but Tronc avoids it well. Tronc appears to be looking for a big counter. Velez tried to score with a low kick but Tronc checks it. Tronc tries to clinch up but Velez circles away and keeps his distance. Tronc has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Billy Tronc. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tronc seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Velez shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Tronc is backing up but Velez catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Tronc covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Velez Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

#R1# Doumfris on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Velez connects with a single shot there.#KD2# Velez drops Doumfris with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Doumfris looks back up at him and smiles so Velez waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
#ROC2#Doumfris is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Both fighters circling slowly here as the pace drops. Hopefully one of them does someth.. OOOHHHH!!!! Velez throws an absolute beast of a head kick! Doumfris is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the cage! Wow!
