#R1# Reyes lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Ricky Reyes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice takedown defense from Rocha. No joy for Reyes on that attempt. Rocha tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Reyes was well out of range. Poor timing from Rocha. A decent looking cross lands there for Reyes. Wawrzyniak looks to score with a jab to the body but Reyes is just out of range. Reyes looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Reyes tries to score a power double leg takedown but Wawrzyniak sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Reyes somewhat. Wawrzyniak throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Reyes pushes Wawrzyniak against the cage but Wawrzyniak circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Reyes slips a jab from Wawrzyniak. Wawrzyniak connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Wawrzyniak's coach down at Wolfshark MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Wawrzyniak's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Wawrzyniak jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Reyes tries to score with some ground and pound. Calderon controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Reyes looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Calderon is avoiding damage well.

We've been hearing reports that Reyes has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Reyes takes one to the chin there. Reyes shoots in and drives through. Gurnisson sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ricky Reyes. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lane lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Reyes circles away quickly and effectively. Lane lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Lane. Lane misses with a wild body shot. Lane rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Reyes moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Reyes fails with an attempt to clinch.
Lane looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Lane pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Reyes back to the cage. Lane follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Lane connects with a looping right hand.
A combination from Lane does no damage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Reyes shoots in for a takedown but Lane shows good takedown defense. Lane ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.#TD# Reyes changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lane looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Lane is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.#SUB# Reyes is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lane is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Lane wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Reyes has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
