#R1# Scott defending well as Pukki loads up on a big left hand. Scott throws a fast counter high kick but Pukki manages to duck under it in time. Scott takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Pukki throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pukki uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Pukki throws a poor cross that misses
and Scott counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Pukki closes the distance and lands a one-two. Scott scores with a nice right hand.
#TD# Pukki shoots in and gets a takedown into Scott's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Pukki trying to control the position from guard on top but Scott is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pukki on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Pukki tries to get out of the position. Scott trying to control but Pukki is working from the bottom. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. #REF3# The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.#T4# A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Pukki misses with a double jab
enabling Scott to counter with a crisp jab. Pukki pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Scott changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Pukki throws a jab when Scott was well out of range. Pukki misses with an uppercut. Scott saw that one coming. Scott pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Pukki tests Scott's chin there with a solid looking shot. Pukki throws a jab but it's blocked by Scott. Scott follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land. Scott slips a straight right by Pukki. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Scott scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Scott's coach down at The House Of Pain was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Scott's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Scott lands a head kick!

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Temmu Pukki will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.#R2# Scott moves out of range of the strikes. Scott avoids the body shot from Pukki.
Pukki connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Scott momentarily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pukki looks to land a combination. Scott sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.#ROC#Scott is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Pukki lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks Scott out cold! Scott is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the cage! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!

#TD# and Koivupuunoksa counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Koivupuunoksa. Koivupuunoksa pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Scott is keeping the position for now. Koivupuunoksa working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Scott's head. Koivupuunoksa trying to control the position from guard on top but Scott is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Scott wants to sweep here but Koivupuunoksa controlling him for the moment. Koivupuunoksa working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Scott manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Koivupuunoksa manages to get himself to full guard.

#R1# Good standup being displayed there by Makunochi as he connects with a hook. Scott blocks a jab. Scott swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Makunochi walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Scott lands a jab to the nose. Scott lands with a cross. Scott throws out a loose jab but Makunochi uses good head movement to avoid it. Makunochi tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Scott was well out of range. Poor timing from Makunochi. Scott loads up on a big right hand but Makunochi slips the punch. An attempted straight right counter from Makunochi misses the target. Scott misses with an uppercut. Makunochi saw that one coming. Makunochi with a body punch. A glancing blow. Scott swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Makunochi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Scott is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. A decent looking cross lands there for Makunochi. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Makunochi lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Scott has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Scott and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Scott catches Makunochi with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Makunochi misses the shot to the body. Scott throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Makunochi sees it coming and avoids it easily. Makunochi swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Scott. Makunochi moves out of range as Scott strikes. Makunochi fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Scott lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.#ROC2#Makunochi is rocked! Scott takes one to the chin there. Oh Makunochi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Scott lands a big uppercut and this one is all over! His foe lies motionless on the canvas - a massive one punch knockout!

#R1# Scott swings for the body but Ford moves out of range.
Ford's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Scott connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Ford scrambles back to his feet.#CUT#It looks like Kareem Ford has been cut. Ford misses with an uppercut. Scott uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ford.
Ford looks to score with a jab to the body but Scott is just out of range.#KD# Scott feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Ford sprawling to the canvas! Ford rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Scott finish him?!
This has been an exciting period of action! Scott drops Ford with a straight right hand, right on the button! Scott follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Montgomery Scott! A very excited looking Montgomery Scott rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed. |
