We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Mcpherson advances to mount. Mcpherson with a couple of short strikes. Mcpherson content just to control the position here. Mcpherson unloading with bombs! Mcpherson scoring with strikes but Mercer is staying in there. Mcpherson lands a nice shot to the head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mcpherson dominating with strikes here. Mercer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mcpherson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Favlenishvili takes one on the button.#CUT#It looks like Bukhuti Favlenishvili has been cut. Favlenishvili throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mercer's waist but Mercer gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Favlenishvili off to one side. Mercer throws a big counter combination but Favlenishvili scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Mercer misses with a wild combination.
#TD2# Favlenishvili fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Mercer to the ground. Favlenishvili is now in Mercer's guard. Favlenishvili passes Mercer's left leg - he's now in half guard. Mercer knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Favlenishvili on the ground. Favlenishvili is sent crashing into the canvas and Mercer leaps in for the kill! Favlenishvili tries to get to his feet but Mercer is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Favlenishvili is in need of a savior and steps in!

#R1# Mercer dips to his left and cracks Tronc with an uppercut! Tronc fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Mercer. Mercer misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mercer fails to land with a series of punches.
Tronc lands with a kick to the temple. Mercer shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Tronc fails with a takedown attempt. Despite the aggression on Mercer's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Mercer swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mercer throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Tronc. Mercer throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Tronc bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A combination from Mercer does no damage. Mercer with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Tronc fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Mercer tries a head kick but it misses.
Tronc is looking to counter the offense by Mercer and move into the clinch. Tronc fails with a takedown attempt from distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Billy Tronc. Tronc prefers to stall for the moment though. Mercer is looking to get back to his feet here but Tronc is keeping cool and he's managed to take Mercer's back. Mercer is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
