#R1# Horrible takedown attempt by Krulov or perhaps it was just good defense by Joe, which made it look bad. #TD2# Joe scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Krulov controls the position for a moment. Krulov is trying to improve his position. Krulov manages to get back to half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Krulov tries to get to full guard but Joe has control of the leg. Krulov gets full guard.#T1# Krulov has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Joe looking to pass the guard. Krulov controlling the position. Joe wants to control from the top but Krulov keeps moving. Joe is looking to stand up but Krulov won't let him. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Krulov seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. #REF3# The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.#T2# Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Krulov throws a hook but Joe blocks it. The fight stays on the outside here - Joe looks like he's thinking about clinching though.#TD# Krulov closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Joe to the mat! Joe manages to get full guard. Krulov is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Krulov landing some decent shots from guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Krulov is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Krulov wants to pass the guard but Joe is keeping the position. Krulov trying to control the position from guard on top but Joe is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. #T3# Joe seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Joe wants to sweep here but Krulov controlling him for the moment. Krulov is working Joe over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Krulov's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Krulov content to stall in guard here. Krulov with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Joe should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Krulov advances to half guard. #T4# Krulov working the head and body with strikes. Krulov trying to control the action but Joe is working from the bottom. Krulov working over Joe with some ground and pound. Joe looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Krulov takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Krulov lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. #SUB2# Joe looking for submissions off his back. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Krulov lands a nice short elbow. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Joe showed some decent athleticism there. Krulov tries to roll over but Joe keeps him under control. Krulov is holding on to half guard well. Joe is looking to regain half guard here but Krulov keeps moving and retains side control. The referee asks Krulov politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Krulov prefers to stall for the moment though. Krulov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Joe takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.#T3# Joe takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
