#R1# Rivera tries to clinch up. Rivera looks for the body kick but Dahan saw that one coming. Dahan drops down looking for a counter takedown but Rivera sprawls and moves away. Dahan is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
#CL2# Rivera moves into the clinch. Rivera gets underhooks to prevent Dahan's takedown attempt.
A frustrated look appears on Rivera's face as he tries to break the clinch. Rivera tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Rivera is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. A quick uppercut on the inside from Rivera. Rivera throws an elbow that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A shot in the inside from Rivera. Rivera pushes Dahan back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Thompson trying to control the action but Rivera is working from the bottom. Rivera is looking to escape. Rivera blocking the ground and pound attempt from Thompson. Rivera is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Thompson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Thompson missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Thompson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rivera wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Hera manages to pass to side control. Hera not landing any meaningful shots this time. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Still in half guard, Hera seems content to control. Hera throwing shots but Rivera is blocking nicely. Omega jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rivera walks away with a smile on his face. Omega gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Rivera shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kelly Omega. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Omega, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
