Noda throws a shot from downtown. Spence moves away and avoids it. Spence blocks a jab. Spence wants to counter with a clinch but Noda pushes him away. Noda looks to land a left hand but Spence moved out of range nicely. Noda keeps the fight on the outside. Noda is looking to counter punch. Yoshiaki Noda seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Noda defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Spence. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Spence rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Noda moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Spence takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Spence tries to clinch and Noda counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. #T1# Spence tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Noda manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Spence moves out of range of the strikes. Noda fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Spence's coach down at Cherokees Island Elite Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Spence's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Spence looks for a takedown but Noda sprawls well. Spence walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Noda definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.#CL2# Spence moves into the clinch. Noda pushes Spence back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. #T2# A short right from Noda on the inside. Noda works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Noda doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Spence staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Spence doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.

As Acosta looks to move away, Spence throws a big counter combo but Acosta just gets out of the way. Spence moves in looking to clinch but Acosta pushes him off. Acosta misses with a lunging right hand
and Spence counters with a series of strikes. Acosta will be more careful next time no doubt. Spence drops his hands momentarily and Acosta takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Spence is looking to clinch. Acosta lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.#KD2# Acosta feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Spence sprawling to the canvas! Spence rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Acosta finish him?!
#ROC2#Spence is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Acosta lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Spence up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Acosta from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Spence's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

World did well to prevent Spence getting side control. World wants to get back to full guard. World is pressing down on Spence's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Spence is fighting to break World's control of his arms but World is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Spence is looking to stand up but World won't let him. World pulls Spence in to control the position. World is continuing to stall. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The adventures of World the control monster continue. Boring. Spence wants to control from the top but World keeps moving. #T1# Spence is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because World is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.#REF3# The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.#TD# Spence drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Very smooth. Spence is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Spence tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Niblett wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Spence is trying to get back to his feet. Spence regains half guard. Spence taking some punishment here, with Niblett in his half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#ES2# Spence pushes Niblett off and gets back to his feet.#TD# Niblett changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Spence looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
