and Proctor counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Kingston rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Proctor moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Proctor looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Proctor jabbing away but nothing is landing. Proctor uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kingston.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Proctor has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. We've been hearing reports that Proctor has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Proctor avoids the head kick by O'Reilly.
Proctor ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. O'Reilly looks to land a body kick but Proctor moved away. Proctor blocks a leg kick. Proctor swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. O'Reilly throws a leg kick but Proctor sees it coming and moves out of range. O'Reilly tries to land a front kick but Proctor steps back. #R1##TD# Lauzon closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Proctor did well to prevent Lauzon getting side control. Lauzon trying to control the pace. Lauzon working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Lauzon lands with a punch from half guard. Lauzon lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Lauzon is nestled in close to Proctor, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Lauzon is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Proctor wants to get back to full guard. Lauzon landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Proctor wants to control but Lauzon is keeping busy.
Lauzon is nestled in close to Proctor, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Lauzon has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. #REVB# In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Proctor working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Proctor won't allow Lauzon to sweep him here. Lauzon is pulling down on Proctor's head to control his posture. #SUB# Proctor wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Lauzon's closed guard. He's half up but Lauzon has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Lauzon pivots and extends the arm, Proctor falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Lauzon! Well done that man!

Proctor walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. A big right from Sanyu misses. Sanyu looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Piotr takes a swing at Proctor's ribcage but misses. A jab from Piotr does it's job there. Piotr cracks Proctor with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Piotr slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Proctor takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Piotr throws a series of punches but Proctor moves out of range. A little feinted left hand from Proctor on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Proctor looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.#SUB# Vivar I tries for a kimura but Proctor is defending well. Proctor can't do much from the bottom here. Proctor is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Vivar I has just dragged him back down to the mat.#SUB# Vivar I tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Vivar I has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! #SUB# Vivar I tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Proctor is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Vivar I asserts his dominance and retains side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB# Vivar I has worked his way into a potential kimura here.
