Lang tries a quick counter leg kick but Irwin is wise to it. Irwin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Irwin wants it to stay on the feet. Irwin seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Irwin chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Lang can pounce on him.
Lang goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Lang lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Irwin throws a leg kick and Lang counters with a slapping leg kick. #CL# Irwin has taken the fight to the clinch.

Nutz dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Lang. That did some damage! Lang tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Nutz is able to avoid easily. Nutz throws a looping overhand right but Lang ducks down to avoid it. As Nutz backs away, Lang returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Nutz misses with an uppercut
and Lang counters with a leg kick. Nutz misses with a lunging right hand
and Lang makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Nutz attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Lang is looking to counter with head kicks. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Lang tries to sprawl out of it but Okura keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lang manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Okura checks a leg kick nicely. Okura with a lazy takedown attempt and Lang counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Van Lang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jun Okura. Okura changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lang tries to avoid it but Okura manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lang to the ground. Lang escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Okura misses with a takedown and Lang counters with a thumping low kick. Okura's coach down at Rabid Dog was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Okura's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
