And Mason tries to counter it with a takedown but Carter pushes his down on his head and steps out. Mason blocks a leg kick.#CL2# Mason drives through and clinches with Carter against the cage.
Mason pushes off an throws an elbow but Carter leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Mason keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Carter's efforts to push away. Carter is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Mason is keeping busy. Carter lands with a right to the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Carter is looking to break free of the clinch but Mason has double underhooks. A short right from Carter. Mason tries for a takedown. No joy.

#R1# Mihalik gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Carter counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Carter scores with a hook to the body. Mihalik takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Carter lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Carter scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Mihalik looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Carter looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it. No luck with that takedown attempt from Mihalik. Carter is looking for the big counter here. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Miroslav Mihalik. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mihalik gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Carter counters with a right hand to the body. A right-left combo lands from Carter. Mihalik shoots in looking for a takedown. Carter tries to sprawl out of it but Mihalik keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Carter throws a nice outside leg kick. Carter lands a nice leg kick that just misses Mihalik's sensitive parts. Mihalik doesn't succeed with the takedown and Carter counters with a deadly accurate combination that rocks Mihalik badly! He tries to strike back but Carter puts an end to that with another precision combo that knocks Mihalik out cold! Oh man, Mihalik will never hear the end of this one!

and Carter counters with a stiff right hand. Amiti misses with an uppercut. Carter is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Amiti with a body shot. Amiti throws the left hand but Carter avoids the punch easily. Carter is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Carter throws a combination. Amiti tries to block but a couple of punches get through.#CUT2#It looks like Julius Amiti has been cut. Carter scores with a hook to the body. Amiti takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Carter wants to slow Amiti down by chopping away at his legs. Carter scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Amiti looks to land a right hand but Carter moved out of range.#TD# Amiti drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. This has been an exciting period of action! Seiji Yamasaki has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Yamasaki working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
And that's the end of the fight! Richard Carter showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Carter, winning every round. Will the judges agree? Norton misses with a takedown attempt - Carter sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Norton staying out of range there. Norton throws a big shot that misses. Carter looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. An inside leg kick from Norton misses. Norton pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. A jab from Carter finds it's way through Norton's defenses. Carter scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. #ROC2#Norton is rocked! Norton drops his hands momentarily. Carter doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Norton staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Norton doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
