#R1##TD2# Kacie Jr scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hobbs manages to work his way to half guard, despite Kacie Jr's best efforts. Hobbs is looking for a sweep. Kacie Jr is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Hobbs's coaches at Grapple have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Hobbs moves into full guard.
Kacie Jr throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hobbs works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kacie Jr postures up and lands a big shot to Hobbs's brow. #SUB# Hobbs working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. #R1# Hobbs shoots in but no luck this time. #TD2# Hobbs changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Strickland looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hobbs working away. Strickland tries to get back to half guard but can't.#SUB2# Hobbs working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Hobbs working away. Hobbs looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.#T1# We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Strickland is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Hobbs tries to advance to mount but can't. A control attempt from Strickland but he's now mounted!#SUB2# Hobbs throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Strickland has his hands clasped together but Hobbs breaks the hold and Strickland is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Hobbs!

#R1##CL# Zakharov instigates a clinch. Hobbs is looking to take this one to the mat. Zakharov prevents a takedown attempt there.
Zakharov lands on the inside with an uppercut. Hobbs has Zakharov pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Zakharov manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Roman Zakharov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyler Hobbs. Zakharov lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Zakharov lands a body punch. Hobbs is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Hobbs wants a takedown but no success here.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Zakharov digs a right hand into Hobbs's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Hobbs's gas tank. Zakharov is controlling Hobbs's posture. Zakharov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hobbs on the ground. Zakharov has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Zakharov looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hobbs is one step ahead there. #T3# Hobbs wants to control from the top but Zakharov keeps moving. #SUB2# Hobbs drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hobbs jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Zakharov keeping full guard, as Hobbs tries to pass. Zakharov can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hobbs controls the pace.#SUB# Zakharov is looking for a triangle here but Hobbs uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
#T4# A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Zakharov tries to improve position but can't. Zakharov can't do much from the bottom here. Zakharov is looking for a sweep.#SUB2# Hobbs is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Zakharov knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Zakharov tries to control but Hobbs manages to take his back. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Roman Zakharov dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.#R2# A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hobbs. Hobbs looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Zakharov is fending him off so far but Hobbs persists. Nope, Zakharov circles away and we're back to standing. Zakharov tries to counter by clinching up but Hobbs breaks away and moves out of range. Tyler Hobbs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Zakharov wants to clinch.#CL# Zakharov closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. #TD# Zakharov is trying to trip Hobbs. He has hold of a leg but Hobbs is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Zakharov persists though and gets the takedown into guard.#SUB2# Zakharov stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Hobbs has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Zakharov manages to get his head free but now Hobbs has transitioned to an armbar! Zakharov grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Hobbs! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

#R1##TD# Hobbs drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Hobbs is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Bando really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hobbs. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Hobbs slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.#SUB# Hobbs is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Bando is trying to escape and Hobbs transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Bando is forced to tap! Nice work there by Hobbs! Very nice indeed!

#R1# Davila wants to clinch up but Hobbs keeps it at a distance. Nice sprawl there from Hobbs as Davila shoots in. Davila goes for a double leg but Hobbs avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hobbs continues to drive forward. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Davila wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mario Davila. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hobbs swings wildly with an uppercut but Davila uses good head movement to avoid it. Hobbs is looking for a takedown. Hobbs avoiding damage as Davila throws knees to the body.
Hobbs is trying to break the clinch but Davila has him pressed against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
