This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the welterweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Colin Deck! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Shota Imanaga! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Radbod Blank and Saam Ante.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.#TD# Deck closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Deck lands in his opponent's guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Deck (2) vs (0) Imanaga Imanaga should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Imanaga looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Deck trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. #SUB# Deck drops back looking for a leg! Imanaga is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Imanaga manages to kick Deck off! Deck jumps back into Imanaga's guard. #SUB# Deck is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. #SUB# Deck drops back looking for a leg! Imanaga is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Imanaga manages to kick Deck off! Deck jumps back into Imanaga's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB# Deck drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Imanaga dives on top into guard. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Deck (2) vs (2) Imanaga#T1##SUB# Deck has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Imanaga should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Deck has tightened it up now! Imanaga should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

#R1# Imanaga tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tavernelli paws at him with a jab and circles away. Tavernelli throws a big shot that misses. Imanaga flicks out a counter leg kick but Tavernelli steps away. Tavernelli ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Imanaga moves away. Imanaga should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Imanaga throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Tavernelli's head. Tavernelli connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Imanaga momentarily.
Tavernelli closes the distance and clinches up with Imanaga, looking for a takedown. Tavernelli pushes Imanaga against the cage but Imanaga circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Imanaga throws a counter combo.#TD# Tavernelli fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Imanaga sprawls well initially but Tavernelli persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Tavernelli is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Imanaga reverses the position - he's now on top in Tavernelli's guard. Tavernelli is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.#T1# Imanaga seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Tavernelli pulls Imanaga in close to prevent any damage. #ES# Tavernelli has his feet on Imanaga's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Tavernelli misses the jab. Tavernelli just misses with a punch to the body.

He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Tavernelli was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Imanaga defending against the ground and pound. Tavernelli working the head with strikes. Imanaga struggling a bit here. Imanaga is trying to escape the position but Tavernelli is controlling the position. Imanaga tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Tavernelli wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Tavernelli misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Tavernelli is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Imanaga is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Tavernelli lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Imanaga down.
Tavernelli advances to full mount. Tavernelli lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Imanaga hang on? Tavernelli has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Tavernelli scoring with strikes but Imanaga is staying in there. Tavernelli throwing strikes but Imanaga uses the opportunity to regain half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tavernelli is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Imanaga looks winded! Tavernelli is nestled in close to Imanaga, controlling him well. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The referee warns Imanaga that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
A big strike lands for Tavernelli! That's really hurt Imanaga and he's turned his back - Tavernelli keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Tavernelli jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

#R1# Turner is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Turner throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Imanaga's waist but Imanaga gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Turner off to one side. Imanaga wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Turner looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Turner shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Imanaga as he jumps to the side. Shota Imanaga has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charles Turner. No luck for Turner with that takedown attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#TD# Imanaga closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Turner's guard. Imanaga controlling from the top position. #SUB2# Turner escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Imanaga gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. #T1##SUB2# Turner had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Imanaga defends it easily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
