Covigten doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Jufre swats away the attempt to clinch by Covigten. Jufre tries a quick counter leg kick but Covigten is wise to it. Covigten throws a head kick but Jufre moves out of range.

Covigten is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Jufre. Covigten is looking to take a break and control but Jufre is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Covigten has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Jufre is positioning himself to get back to half guard. The strikes coming from Covigten are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Covigten throwing strikes but missing, from side control. He has the arm isolated but Covigten is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Covigten is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Jufre asserts his dominance and retains side control. You can see the frustration on Covigten's face as Jufre controls the position. #T8# The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Jufre wants to lay and pray for a moment but Covigten keeps working. Jufre tries to advance to mount but Covigten instead regains half guard. #SUB2# Jufre is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Covigten is just riding it out for now. Jufre eventually gives up the hold. #T9# Jufre tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Covigten. Covigten is trying to stand back up but Jufre is controlling him
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.#ES# Covigten manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Jufre keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the ropes. Covigten wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Covigten is looking to break free of the clinch but Jufre has double underhooks. Covigten has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. Covigten tries to stall but Jufre uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jufre jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Covigten walks away with a smile on his face. Jufre gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Colby Covigten has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Augusto Jufre. Jufre tries to close the distance and clinch up but Covigten swats him away and circles back towards the center. It looked like Covigten was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Colby Covigten is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Covigten throws the kick towards the body but Jufre avoids it. Jufre scores with a three punch combo!

Colby Covigten has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Augusto Jufre is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Jufre can't do much from the bottom here.

#R1# Covigten tries to clinch up but Kay circles away and keeps his distance. Covigten tries to bum rush Kay with a series of wild strikes but Kay uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Covigten keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Covigten tries to clinch but Kay is having none of it. Kay showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Covigten.
Covigten works over Kay's head and body with a nice combination.#CUT2#It looks like Ross Kay has been cut. Covigten throws a head kick but Kay moves out of range.
Covigten throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
#TD# Kay gets a double leg takedown into Covigten's guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Covigten can do anything to dispel that myth. Covigten wants to stand up but Kay is controlling him. Kay is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Covigten screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Kay! Nice submission victory there!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Covigten sitting and controlling from the half guard. Covigten missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Rivera is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Covigten scores with a couple of nice shots.
