We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gracie tries to roll over but Mason keeps him under control. Mason seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gracie does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. #T1##SUB2# Gracie looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Gracie is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Mason pulls down on the head and he's put Gracie to sleep! This one is all over!

Mason is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Davis pulls him back up using the underhooks. Nice body punch from Mason - that landed with a thud.
#TD# Mason ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Mason no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Davis wanted to stand there but Mason had control of the position. Mason looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Davis puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mason is looking for a sweep. Davis is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Mason keeps control of the position for the meantime. Davis prevents Mason from standing back up.

We've been hearing reports that Ross has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Mason slips a straight right by Ross. Mason takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.#ROC#Mason is rocked! Mason shoots in looking for a takedown but Ross manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mason's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Mason is still on wobbly legs! Can Ross finish him? Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Ross engages and cracks Mason with a massive lead left hook - Mason tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Ross is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!

"I don't think so" says Russo as he avoids it easily. Mason shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Russo but Russo pushes him off and we're back to square one. Russo throws a combination. Mason tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Mason takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Russo cracks Mason with a good jab.#CL# Russo closes the distance and pushes Mason back into the cage. Russo scores with a nice hook to the head. Russo is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Mason thows a huge punch but Rizzveira dodges it nicely.
Mason wants to stand but Rizzveira has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mason seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Mason thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Robertson can do anything to dispel that myth. Robertson looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Mason looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Robertson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Mason content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. #SUB# Mason seems to be looking for submissions.

Highlander is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Mason off and has taken his back! Mason is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

We've been hearing good reports from Mason's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Highlander is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Mason sitting in guard, not really doing much. Mason lands a couple of elbows. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mason landing with the ground and pound.
