#TD2# Bates turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Bates manages to end up in side control. Curtis tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bates wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Bates gets to mount! Curtis was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. #SU2# Bates get's back to his feet. Bates throws a head kick but Curtis moves out of range.
Bates tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Some bone on bone action there as Bates checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. A bone on bone clash there as Bates blocks the leg kick.

My spies in KO MMA inform me that Bates has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Bates lands a big elbow.
