Davis is looking for a sweep. Melendez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Melendez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Let's hope that Melendez has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Davis tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Savage smiles and moves away.

Davis decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Savage has one foot on Davis's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Horrible takedown attempt by Davis or perhaps it was just good defense by Savage, which made it look bad.

Savage is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Davis flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Davis is out cold! Savage holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
