The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dibiassi wants to stand up but Stroganov is controlling him. Stroganov lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Dibiassi is trying to control the position from the bottom.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Stroganov scores with a couple of short elbows. Cuervo is trying to improve his position. Stroganov lands a few punches from side control. Stroganov working the ground and pound. Stroganov lands a nice forearm strike. Cuervo felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Cuervo takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Santos is looking to control Stroganov's arms but Stroganov gets an underhook and turns him. Now Santos has his back to the cage. Stroganov stalling.
Santos drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Stroganov gets the underhooks and prevents it.
I was talking to Stroganov's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. #TD# Stroganov gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Stroganov scoring with some ground and pound.
