Tar Monster lands the left hand.
Tar Monster missing with a left hand there. Zhang was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Tar Monster works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Zhang lands a jab to the nose.
Tar Monster scores with a nice right hand.
Tar Monster's corner calls for a 1-2. Tar Monster obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. #ROC#Zhang is rocked!
Tar Monster lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Zhang head around and knocks him out cold! Tar Monster hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Armus Tar Monster!
Armus Tar Monster was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed. |

Zhang lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Hayden.
Hayden goes for a takedown attempt but Zhang pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
No joy there for Zhang, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hayden shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Zhang counters with a stiff right hand.
Zhang rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hayden moves out of range and avoids them all easily.#TD#
Zhang gets caught flat footed, as Hayden shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Zhang is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Hayden dives into side control.

Hayden takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Zhang working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hayden doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hayden manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Zhang wants to control the position but Hayden says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Hayden keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Hayden's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.#T2##SUB#
