Nerdy looks for a takedown but Viana sprawls well.

and Viana counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Nerdy is pulling down on Viana's head. It's preventing any offense from Viana, at least for the moment.
Nerdy can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Viana controls the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#T1#
Viana passes Nerdy's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Viana in particular looking to stall.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Viana has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Nerdy is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Nerdy tries to circle away but Viana has him pinned against the cage.
Viana goes for a takedown attempt but Nerdy pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Viana tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Nerdy defends well and Viana ends up having to push Nerdy into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Nerdy shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Viana as he jumps to the side.
Viana lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Viana leaves Nerdy with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Nerdy stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Nerdy wants it to stay on the feet.
Viana dodges the punch combination from Nerdy.
Nerdy connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Viana! He's out on his feet! Nerdy rushes in and drops Viana with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
