#R1# Horvat with a poor takedown and Cartagena cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.#CL# Cartagena fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Horvat, pushing him back against the ropes. Cartagena tries to score a body lock takedown but Horvat shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Horvat keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Cartagena's efforts to push away. Cartagena misses with a short punch on the inside. Cartagena goes for a takedown attempt but Horvat pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
#TD2# Horvat shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Cartagena is trying to defend but Horvat finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Cartagena is trying to escape back to his feet but Horvat uses the scramble to pass into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Horvat trying to control the position but Cartagena is working away. #T1# Horvat wants to stand but Cartagena has his arm trapped. Cartagena is not content to let Horvat control the position. Horvat lands a few punches from side control.#T2# A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Horvat working away. Horvat tries to move into full mount but can't pass Cartagena's legs. Cartagena is looking for a sweep. Cartagena is not content to let Horvat control the position. Cartagena is looking to reverse the position. Horvat tries to stand but Cartagena is controlling his head. Cartagena misses with an elbow from the bottom.#T3##SU2# Horvat decides to stand back up. Horvat steps back and let's Cartagena get back to his feet.#TD2# Horvat gets a double leg takedown into Cartagena's guard. Horvat looking to pass the guard. Horvat wants to control from the top but Cartagena keeps moving. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Horvat showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Horvat trying to control the position from guard on top but Cartagena is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. #T4##ES# Cartagena wriggles free and stands up. Horvat closes the distance looking to clinch and Cartagena counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.#TD# Cartagena shoots in for a takedown and gets it. This has been an exciting period of action! Horvat wants to stand back up but Cartagena manages to pass into side control.
You can see the frustration on Horvat's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.#T5# Cartagena wants to lay and pray for a moment but Horvat keeps working. Horvat is trying to control Cartagena's posture but Cartagena avoids it. Horvat is trying to improve his position.#T6# A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Cartagena trying to control the position but Horvat is working away. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Horvat can do anything to dispel that myth. Horvat dodges the ground and pound from Cartagena. Horvat is looking for a sweep. Cartagena lands a few punches from side control. Horvat has one of Cartagena's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage. Horvat tries to control but Cartagena manages to take his back.#T7# Horvat trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. #SUB# Cartagena is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Horvat won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Cartagena off his unconscious opponent!
