#R1# Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling each other endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.#CL2# Carr rushes Brown and presses him up against the cage. Brown taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Carr is pushing Brown up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Carr letting Brown take a breather here.#T1# Carr looking to stall.
Carr is trying to maintain a safe position but Brown gets an underhook and turns Carr into the cage. Carr is trying to slow the pace down but that's a couple of times in a row that he's tried to get underhooks and Brown has denied him. Brown is struggling to control the position.#T2# Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. The referee is keeping an eye on Brown - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Brown has Carr pushed against the cage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Brown.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Marques Brown. Well Brown has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1 round of action, we go to the scorecards for a decision. Judge Andrew Berry scores the fight 10:9 Judge Colin Fotheringham scores the fight 10:9 Judge Richard Clark scores the fight 10:9
In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Marques Brown! |
