#R1# Koefti throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. A thudding body kick lands there by Koefti!
Hopkinson looks to score with a jab to the body but Koefti is just out of range. Hopkinson moves out of range of the body kick from Koefti.
Hopkinson throws the kick towards the body but Koefti avoids it. Koefti throws a fast counter high kick but Hopkinson manages to duck under it in time. Koefti scores with a head kick.
#KD2# Koefti drops his shoulder and cracks Hopkinson with a huge uppercut! Hopkinson goes down! Can Koefti finish him?
#ROC2#Hopkinson is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hopkinson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Oh Hopkinson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!#SU2# Koefti stands up and waves to Hopkinson to follow him. Koefti tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Hopkinson misses with a hook. Koefti ducked under it nicely. Koefti is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Hopkinson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Koefti buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Koefti throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Koefti throws a monster overhand right that drops Hopkinson! Koefti follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

#R1# Hopkinson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Phuthong throws a hook to the side of Hopkinson's head but Hopkinson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Phuthong throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
#CL2# Hopkinson gets in close and instigates a clinch. Nice body punch from Phuthong - that landed with a thud.
I was talking to Phuthong's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Hopkinson wants to break free but Phuthong has control.
Hopkinson looking for a takedown. Hopkinson takes a shot to the head. Hopkinson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Hopkinson jumps guard but Phuthong stands there with Hopkinson around his waist. Hopkinson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Hopkinson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Phuthong walks away with a smile on his face. Hopkinson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Eh Phuthong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Abe Hopkinson. Hopkinson takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Hopkinson throws a series of punches but Phuthong avoids them all with ease. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Phuthong feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Hopkinsons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!#ROC#Hopkinson is rocked! Phuthong throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Hopkinson is still on wobbly legs! Can Phuthong finish him? Hopkinson walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Phuthong throws a push kick but Hopkinson slaps the foot to one side. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hopkinson takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
#T1# A jab from Phuthong finds it's way through Hopkinson's defenses. Phuthong defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hopkinson. Phuthong is looking to score with low kicks. A combination from Phuthong does no damage. Hopkinson darts in looking for a takedown but Phuthong gets double underhooks and turns Hopkinson into the cage. #CL2# Hopkinson clinches. Phuthong works on Hopkinson's body with a couple of short punches. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Phuthong creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Phuthong. Hopkinson looks winded!#KD# Phuthong lands an uppercut that drops Hopkinson! Phuthong follows him to the canvas looking to finish. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Phuthong controls the position from side control. Hopkinson stops Phuthong from passing to mount. #T2# Phuthong is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Hopkinson's shoulder. That is not cool. Hopkinson seems to have recovered his senses. Phuthong continues to stall. Phuthong has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hopkinson can do anything to dispel that myth.#T3# More hug and hope from Phuthong. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Hopkinson tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Phuthong tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Hopkinson is looking to improve his position but Phuthong isn't that keen on the idea.#T4# There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Phuthong controlling from the full mount. Phuthong avoids the attempt from Hopkinson to control. Phuthong controlling the pace for now. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Eh Phuthong dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.#R2# Hopkinson on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. A lazy left from Phuthong finds it's target. Eh Phuthong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Phuthong fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Hopkinson on the side of the head. Phuthong scores with the left hand. Hopkinson knows he should have avoided that one. Eh Phuthong is winning the standup battle so far. Hopkinson with a lazy takedown attempt and Phuthong counters with a nice body shot. Phuthong is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hopkinson can do to turn this around? Hopkinson takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The fighters circle momentarily. Phuthong darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Phuthong connects with a crisp jab. Phuthong lands with a nice body punch. Phuthong getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Phuthong throws out a powerful jab. Phuthong drops Hopkinson with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Hopkinson! Phuthong dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
