Maltepe shoots for a takedown but Yilmaz saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Yilmaz connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Maltepe covering up! Yilmaz comes in with a big uppercut and Maltepe goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.

Maltepe throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Macdonald's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Maltepe dives in looking to finish as Macdonald flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Maltepe's strikes! Maltepe is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Macdonald's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Macdonald was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
