#R1# Velez shoots in for a takedown but Loaiza shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Velez checks the leg kick.#TD# Loaiza shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Loaiza was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Velez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Loaiza. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Loaiza scores with a couple of short elbows. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Loaiza in side control, just content to control the action for now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Velez tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Loaiza wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. #T1# Loaiza tries to stand but Velez is controlling his head. Velez wants to control but Loaiza postures up.#SU# Loaiza decides to stand up, so the ref orders Velez to his feet. #TD# Velez gets caught flat footed, as Loaiza shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Loaiza stays in close to Velez's body and controls the position. #SUB2# Velez had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Loaiza defends it easily. Loaiza works a leg free and moves into half guard. #T2# Loaiza is controlling the pace.

#SUB# Loaiza is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Velez doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Loaiza. Loaiza looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Velez with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Loaiza is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Velez is trying to control but can't.

Dulis Jr Loaiza dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.#R2# Velez tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Loaiza swivels and escapes. Dulis Jr Loaiza is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Velez is looking to take this fight into the clinch.#CL# Loaiza has closed the distance and engaged Velez in a clinch.

Velez is trying to pull guard but Loaiza turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Loaiza tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
#BC# Loaiza's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Loaiza takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
#TD# Loaiza gets a double leg takedown into Velez's guard. Loaiza sitting in guard here, content to control. Loaiza advances to half guard. #T1# Velez is looking to improve his position.

Loaiza advances to full mount. #T2# The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Loaiza avoids the attempt from Velez to control. Velez is breathing heavily. Velez is wriggling around trying to escape.
Loaiza takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Velez wants to control but Loaiza is having none of it. Loaiza landing punches. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#T3# Loaiza is in the full mount, landing strikes. Velez wants to hold on but Loaiza pushes him away. Loaiza scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Velez?

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Loaiza postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Velez bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Loaiza and the fight is over!
