#R1# A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Brackmathus. Picote feints the counter takedown. Picote keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Brackmathus goes for a double leg but Picote avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Picote continues to drive forward. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lothar Brackmathus. That's going to take a lot out of him. Picote is looking to take this one to the mat. Picote changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Brackmathus fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Brackmathus tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Picote defends well and Brackmathus ends up having to push Picote into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Picote has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Brackmathus after a bit of a struggle. Brackmathus prevents a takedown attempt there.

Picote won't allow Brackmathus to sweep him here. #SUB# Brackmathus has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Picote can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Picote trying to control the position from guard on top but Brackmathus is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. #T2##SUB# Brackmathus throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Picote must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Brackmathus is trying to control the position but Picote postures up. #SUB# Brackmathus is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Picote tries to free his leg and advance position but Brackmathus is retaining full guard. Picote wants to control from the top but Brackmathus keeps moving. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Brackmathus wants to control but Picote passes easily into half guard.
