Connolly lands a hook that snaps the head of Melo backwards. Melo tries to break the clinch but Connolly is controlling the position. Connolly lands a hook to the side of the head. Connolly scores with a shot to the side of Melo's head. A nice right hand lands inside from Connolly. Melo trying to stall but Connolly improves his position.
Connolly pushes Melo back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. A short right from Connolly. Connolly lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Melo backwards. A short right hand to the side of the head by Connolly. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Connolly is working Melo over against the cage. Dan Connolly has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Losko Melo. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Connolly. Connolly lands a nice uppercut. Connolly lands a hook to the side of the head. Rice drops down looking for an ankle pick but Connolly pulls his leg out and moves away.
#CL2# Connolly moves into the clinch. A nice right hand lands inside from Connolly. Rice tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Connolly smiles and moves away.
#CL2# Connolly rushes Rice and presses him up against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#BC# Rice breaks from the clinch.
Connolly connects with a nice looking jab.

Watts wants to get back to striking at distance but Connolly won't allow it.
Watts drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Watts is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Connolly works on Watts's body with a couple of short punches. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Connolly is stalling here.
Still in the clinch, Connolly scores with a nice short uppercut. Connolly working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Knox has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Connolly avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Knox trying to control the position but instead, Connolly has worked for underhooks and has pushed Knox into the cage. Connolly lands a nice uppercut. Knox is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Connolly prevents Knox from breaking the clinch. A quick uppercut on the inside from Connolly.
