Magomedsharipov slaps away a takedown attempt from Canvana, before circling back to the center of the mat. Magomedsharipov dives in and grabs Canvana's left leg, looking for a takedown. Canvana pushes down on Magomedsharipov's head and hops out. Canvana throws a head kick but Magomedsharipov moves out of range.

Lauzon is in close to Canvana's body, working some short punches and elbows. Lauzon working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Canvana has momentary wrist control but Lauzon slips an elbow through the middle. Lauzon postures up and lands a big shot to Canvana's brow. Lauzon lands a couple of digs. Lauzon with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.#ROC#Canvana is rocked! Canvana has momentary wrist control but Lauzon slips an elbow through the middle. Canvana is still in real trouble! Can Lauzon finish him? Lauzon trying to control the position from guard on top but Canvana is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Canvana seems to have recovered his senses. Lauzon is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lauzon keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Canvana's head. Lauzon connects with a couple of short punches. We've been hearing good reports from Lauzon's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Rivera scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Canvana is defended easily by Rivera. Canvana fails with the takedown. Rivera doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Colby Canvana. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rivera cracks Canvana with a good jab. Canvana tries to clinch and Rivera counters with a right hand to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rivera throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Rivera connects with a body shot. Rivera misses with a head kick.

#R1##CL2# Canvana forces Legend Jr back against the cage and clinches. Legend Jr is breathing heavily.#TD2# Canvana wants the takedown. Legend Jr is fighting it off but Canvana persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Legend Jr's guard against the cage. Canvana sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Legend Jr's guard. Canvana passes to full mount! Canvana postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Legend Jr looks a forlorn figure.
Canvana takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. It looks like Canvana might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Legend Jr tries to get back to half guard but can't. Canvana controlling his opponent. #T1# Canvana lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Legend Jr hang on? Canvana sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Davis swings wildly with an uppercut but Canvana uses good head movement to avoid it. #BC# Davis manages to break the clinch.

Davis gets through Canvana's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Canvana told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight. Davis lands a right hand. Davis throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Canvanas head. Davis tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Davis throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Canvana blocks it with crossed arms. Canvana taking a breather. Davis cracks Canvana with a nice body shot. Canvana is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. A short uppercut from Davis. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Davis creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Still in the clinch, Davis scores with a nice short uppercut. Canvana tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Canvana bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rivera's guard. #REVR# Canvana passes Rivera's left leg - he's now in half guard. Canvana is controlling the pace.
Canvana's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
