He's managed to get a loose triangle. Madera doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. We've been told by Shrute's head coaches at Cozad MMA St Petersburg that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.#TD2# Shrute gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Madera to score an easy takedown into full guard. Madera working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Madera trying to control the position from guard on top but Shrute is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Madera might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Shrute haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. A lull in the action here as Ekberg stalls from top position.
