#R1# King is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
#CL2# Wilder clinches. King tries to pull guard but Wilder won't allow it.
#BC2# Wilder pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. King fails with a takedown attempt. Wilder throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. King checks a low kick from Wilder. King shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Troy King. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wilder tries a low kick but King avoids it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wilder uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before King has time to react.#CUT2#It looks like Troy King has been cut. King shoots in but no luck this time. Wilder lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. King fails with the takedown.#T1##CL2# Wilder moves into range and clinches up with King. Wilder throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Kings head. #TD2# Wilder lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Wilder lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Wilder content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wilder lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt King quite badly. King pulls Wilder in close trying to recover. Wilder postures up and lands two really hard shots that put King on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but King doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). George Wilder! George Wilder is the new super heavyweight champion! George Wilder was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed. |

#R1# We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.#TD2# Steele gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Wilder scoring with some ground and pound. Wilder is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Steele has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Steele has control of Wilder's left arm, preventing Wilder from doing any damage. Wilder stands and throws Steele's legs to the side, diving into side control. Wilder lands a decent elbow from side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Steele avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Wilder. Wilder scores with punches from side control. Wilder misses with the ground and pound. Wilder trying to control the action but Steele is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#T1# The strikes coming from Wilder are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Wilder working the head with strikes. Wilder throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Steele being controlled for a moment. Wilder is chipping away with strikes.
Steele takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Wilder lands a strong strike to the head of Steele. That's dazed him! Wilder looking to finish here. Steele is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Wilder lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
