The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Jackson tries for a takedown but Stanton sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Jackson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Stanton has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Jackson is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Stanton. Jackson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Stanton for as long as he can get away with.

Thomas closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Stanton has Thomas pressed against the cage, preventing Thomas from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Stanton tries a knee to the head but Thomas blocks it.
Stanton is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Thomas is defending well for now.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Carter enables Stanton to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Carter manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
