Whitehead throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Samaki counters with a nice body shot. Whitehead throws out a loose jab but Samaki uses good head movement to avoid it. #CL2# Whitehead gets a clinch. Samaki avoiding damage.

Samaki makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Whitehead swings wildly with an uppercut but Samaki uses good head movement to avoid it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Whitehead stalling in the clinch but Samaki improves position. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. A right handed body shot lands from Samaki.

Samaki prevents Whitehead from improving his position. Whitehead wants to control but Samaki is keeping busy and won't allow it. Whitehead moves into full guard.

No damage this time. #T4# Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Samaki is looking to work some ground and pound but Whitehead has wrist control. Whitehead looking to hit a scissor sweep but Samaki is one step ahead there. Samaki showing good wrestling skills to control the position. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Whitehead is on top in guard.

A close round but Bryson Whitehead will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.#R2# Whitehead throws a jab when Samaki was well out of range. Whitehead shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Samaki but Samaki pushes him off and we're back to square one. Whitehead misses the jab. Whitehead throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Whitehead scores with a nice right hand.

Samaki just leaning against Whitehead, taking a breather. #TD# Samaki is trying to trip Whitehead. He has hold of a leg but Whitehead is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Samaki persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Samaki slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#T2##SUB2# Whitehead is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Samaki is aware though and is defending well. Samaki has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Whitehead can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Samaki controls the pace. Whitehead trying to control the position.
Samaki is looking to work some ground and pound but Whitehead has wrist control.#SUB2# Samaki has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Whitehead to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Samaki is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Whitehead pulls down on the head and he's put Samaki to sleep! This one is all over!
