Shikongo throws a head kick but Nurzhan moves out of range.
Nurzhan tries to counter with a clinch but Shikongo shakes him off and moves away. Nurzhan connects with a solid leg kick. Nurzhan looks to throw a body kick and Shikongo counters with a slapping leg kick. Shikongo with the inside leg kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nurzhan throws a body kick, spinning off balance enabling Shikongo to counter with a crisp jab. Nurzhan moves to clinch but Shikongo breaks away and Shikongo counters with a nice low kick that buckles Nurzhan's knee momentarily.#KD# Shikongo lands a big head kick that sends Nurzhan tumbling to the mat! Shikongo takes a step backwards and waves Nurzhan back to his feet - he wants the finish!#ROC#Nurzhan is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A chopping leg kick lands by Shikongo. Ibrahim Nurzhan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nurzhan tries to clinch up. Nurzhan throws a leg kick and Shikongo counters with a nice body kick.

Nurzhan does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Nurzhan throws a sloppy head kick and Van Kampen moves out of range easily. Nurzhan moves out of range of the leg kick from Van Kampen. Van Kampen takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Van Kampen lands with a straight right. Nurzhan didn't see that one coming. Nurzhan tries to clinch up but Van Kampen circles away and keeps his distance. Nurzhan misses with an attempted mid kick.
Nurzhan looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Van Kampen throws a series of punches but Nurzhan moves out of range. Nurzhan tries to clinch up#TD2# and Van Kampen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Nurzhan has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Van Kampen off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Nurzhan won't allow Van Kampen to pass to mount. #T2# The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Nurzhan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Nurzhan wants to control but Van Kampen is keeping busy.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Van Kampen is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! #SUB2# Van Kampen is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Nurzhan to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Nurzhan shrugs it off. Van Kampen takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#T3# Van Kampen prevents Nurzhan from getting the reversal. It looks like Van Kampen might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Nurzhan tries to lock up and control but Van Kampen gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Van Kampen sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. #R1# Ryans swats away the attempt to clinch by Nurzhan. Ryans clobbers Nurzhan with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Nurzhan shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ryans defends it nicely. A lazy body kick from Nurzhan #TD# and Ryans counters with a shoot takedown. Nurzhan fights it but they end up in guard. Nurzhan is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Ryans presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. The referee calls for Ryans to work.
#BC# Ryans pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.#CL# Ryans moves into the clinch. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!#TD# Ryans gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
