Valdez shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Long is trying to defend but Valdez finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Long wants to stand back up but Valdez manages to pass into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#SUB#
Valdez tries for a kimura but Long is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Valdez throws a strike aimed at the side of Long's head but Long avoids it well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB#
Valdez has hold of Long's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Long seems comfortable defending it but Valdez has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Long is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Long is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Valdez couldn't care less - he's delighted!
