Valdez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Li keeps working. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Valdez throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. We've been hearing good reports from Valdez's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Li wants to control but Valdez is keeping busy and won't allow it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#SUB# Valdez wants to work for an arm triangle but Li is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Valdez manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Valdez throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Li stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Valdez swivels though and keeps the full guard. Li stopping the sweep attempt from Valdez. Valdez is trying to keep Li in close.
#T4# Li tries to free his leg and advance position but Valdez is retaining full guard. Valdez controls Li momentarily but Li frees himself. Valdez looking to sweep here. No luck so far. #REF3# The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Valdez fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Valdez tries a head kick but it misses.

Valdez fails with the takedown.#T2# A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Li uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Valdez. Valdez shoots in and drives through. Li sprawls well. Li misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Valdez shoots in but no luck this time. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bradley Valdez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Li shoots for a takedown but Valdez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.#TD2# Valdez tries to sprawl but Li drives through with a takedown into half guard. Li tries to pass the half guard into mount. Valdez knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. He's hooked one of Li's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Li's back! Valdez trying to control. I really don't envy Li right now.
Li wriggles onto his back under a barage of strikes. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Li is looking to get to half guard. Li regains half guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Mikael Li showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!#R3# Valdez gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Li counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Valdez throws an ugly left hook that misses
#TD2# and Li counters with a nice double leg into half guard. #SUB2# Li seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Valdez is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

#R1# Master moves in looking to clinch but Valdez pushes him off. Master backing away here, and Valdez unleashes a leg kick that just misses. Valdez with a lazy takedown attempt and Master counters with a lovely straight right hand! Master tries to clinch but Valdez moves out of range. #CL2# Master gets tackled into the cage by Valdez. Valdez maintains the clinch. Valdez blocking some punches.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Valdez. Valdez is pushing Master up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Master. Master lands on the inside with an uppercut. Master fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
#TD2# Valdez lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Master is letting Valdez control him for a moment. #SUB2# Valdez has hold of Master's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Master seems comfortable defending it but Valdez has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Master is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Master is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Valdez couldn't care less - he's delighted!

#R1##TD# Valdez shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Long is trying to defend but Valdez finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Long wants to stand back up but Valdez manages to pass into side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Valdez throws a strike aimed at the side of Long's head but Long avoids it well.
