#R1# A punch lands to the side of Sparks 's head but he takes it in his stride. Mcneil slaps away a takedown attempt from Sparks, before circling back to the center of the mat. Sparks walks into a stiff left hand from Mcneil.#CUT#It looks like Lamont Sparks has been cut. Mcneil lands a big right hook! Sparks looks hurt but is still standing! Mcneil lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Sparks falls down and Mcneil dives in with a huge hammer fist! Sparks's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Mcneil runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!

#R1# Sparks shoots in for a takedown but Chimaev shows good takedown defense. Sparks shoots in but Chimaev avoids the takedown attempt easily. Sparks checks a low kick from Chimaev. Sparks misses with a takedown #TD# and Chimaev counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Khamzat Chimaev has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lamont Sparks. Chimaev performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Sparks is trying to get back to full guard. Sparks trying to get back to full guard but Chimaev takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sparks can do anything to dispel that myth.#SUB# Chimaev working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Sparks turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! and Sparks takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Sparks tries for a takedown but Palmer sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Palmer misses with a straight right. Palmer takes a swing at Sparks's ribcage but misses. Sparks feints the counter takedown. Palmer misses with a wild body shot. #TD2# Sparks gets the takedown into side control. Sparks in side control, just content to control the action for now. Sparks works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Sparks working away. Sparks working the head with strikes. Palmer gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Palmer is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Sparks scores with a couple of nice shots. Sparks content to control rather than advance. Sparks is nestled in close to Palmer, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.#T1# Palmer trying to control but Sparks postures up.

Sparks throws a strike but Grayson rolls with it and manages to sweep.
