A telegraphed takedown attempt from Yates is defended easily by Madden.
A punch combination from Yates misses.
Yates throws a left and a right that both miss

and Madden counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Madden passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Yates lands with an elbow strike from the bottom.
Madden throws a strike aimed at the side of Yates's head but Yates avoids it well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The ground and pound from Madden seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. #SUB#

Madden shoots for a double leg takedown but Yates sprawls well. He's pushed Madden's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Yates working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Madden doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Madden manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Madden went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That was a close second round but I would say that Asa Madden will probably get the nod.
