#R1# Clegane throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Montgomery Scott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Clegane throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Scott on the side of the head. Clegane scores with a hook.#TD# Scott manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Clegane on his heels. He'll look to pass Clegane's guard now, I'm sure. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Scott makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Scott might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Clegane can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Scott controls the pace. Scott pushes down on Clegane's leg and manages to get into half guard. Clegane tries to kick Scott off but Scott keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Scott lands with a punch from half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Scott uses his free foot to push down on Clegane's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Clegane. The referee warns Clegane that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Scott is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Clegane goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Scott!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Montgomery Scott! Montgomery Scott decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little. |
