A nice inside leg kick there by Alexander. That's going to slow Coffey down. Phoenix Alexander seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice jab there from Alexander. Coffey misses with a takedown attempt letting Alexander counter with a right hand. #CL2# Alexander fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Coffey, pushing him back against the cage.#BC2# Alexander's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Good standup being displayed there by Alexander as he connects with a hook.#CL2# Alexander rushes Coffey and presses him up against the cage.#BC2# Alexander pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Coffey tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. This has been an exciting period of action! Coffey walks into a jab. Sloppy strikes from Alexander. Those never looked like landing. Coffey tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Alexander swivels and escapes. #R1# Mortonfar blocks a low kick nicely. Mortonfar looks to land a combination but Coffey avoids it well. Coffey looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Coffey shoots in looking for a takedown but Mortonfar manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Coffey's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Mortonfar lands a head kick!
#CUT2#It looks like Magnus Coffey has been cut. Mortonfar looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Mortonfar tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Coffey swivels and escapes. Mortonfar will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Magnus Coffey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Urvin Mortonfar. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#CL# Coffey closes the distance and clinches. Kerr manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
