Chimaev escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Oxmier will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Chimaev tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Oxmier shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Chimaev sprawls well. Chimaev wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Oxmier gets slowly back to his feet. Oxmier stuffs the takedown. Oxmier closes this distance looking for a takedown but Chimaev circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Forde Oxmier. That's going to take a lot out of him. Chimaev moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Chimaev postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Oxmier thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Chimaev keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Oxmier's head.#T3# Chimaev throwing strikes but missing. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Chimaev is stalling in the full guard. Oxmier is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Chimaev is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. We've been informed that Chimaev has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. No luck for Oxmier with that takedown attempt. #TD2# Chimaev closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Oxmier did well to prevent Chimaev getting side control. Chimaev not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Oxmier moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Chimaev lands a couple of decent looking shots. Oxmier utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Oxmier really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Chimaev stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Oxmier swivels though and keeps the full guard. Chimaev passes easily into side control. Nice work. Chimaev grinds an elbow into Oxmier's temple. Oxmier manages to work his way to half guard, despite Chimaev's best efforts. Oxmier is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. #SUB2# Chimaev maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Oxmier could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Chimaev has cracked it and Oxmier is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Chimaev!

Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Tyrone tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Oxmier smiles and moves away.
No luck for Oxmier with that takedown attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Oxmier with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
