#TD# Kramlik shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Kramlik pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bond is keeping the position for now. #SUB# Kramlik drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Bond dives on top into guard.#REVB# Bond must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.#SUB# Kramlik working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bond doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bond manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. #SU2# Bond stands up from guard. Let's bang! A looping hook to the body misses from Kramlik. Bond does a little dance to reset his feet.#TD# Kramlik closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action!#SUB# Kramlik is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bond is just riding it out for now. Kramlik eventually gives up the hold. Bond is trying to maintain the position but Kramlik is very close to passing his half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#T1##SUB# Kramlik wants to work for an arm triangle but Bond is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Bond manages to get to full guard.
#SUB# Kramlik drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kramlik jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Bond can't keep his opponent in guard - Kramlik advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Kramlik passes to side control. #SUB# Kramlik is working to tighten his grip on Bond's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Bond has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Kramlik is really squeezing tight and eventually Bond passes out! Kramlik breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Vladimir Kramlik! Vladimir Kramlik spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant. |
