Branch showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Branch postures up and lands a big shot to Taylor's brow. Branch works over Taylor with some ground and pound from guard.#SUB2# Taylor had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Branch defends it easily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Branch is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. #T1# Branch wanted to stand there but Taylor had control of the position. Branch knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Taylor on the ground. Branch distracts Taylor with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Branch slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Branch postures up.

#R1# Branch fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Kahnt stuffs the takedown. Kahnt is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Kahnt really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Kahnt fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Branch looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. A shot to the liver by Kahnt. Beautiful body shot. Kahnt keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Branch shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Kahnt counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Werner Kahnt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tom Branch. Kahnt dips to his left and cracks Branch with an uppercut! Kahnt connects with a crisp jab. Kahnt's jab looks to have found its range, popping Branch under the eye. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Branch shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kahnt but Kahnt pushes him off and we're back to square one. Kahnt fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.#T1# Kahnt cracks Branch with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Branch fails with a takedown attempt. Kahnt is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Branch fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Kahnt bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Decent striking displayed by Kahnt there.#ROC#Branch is rocked! Kahnt scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. A punch lands to the side of Branch 's head but he takes it in his stride. Branch is still on wobbly legs! Can Kahnt finish him? Branch misses with a takedown attempt and Kahnt counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Branch looks winded! Branch on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Kahnt is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Kahnt scores with a jab to the body. Branch seems to have recovered his senses.#T2# The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kahnt lands a nice looking body shot.
Kahnt feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Branchs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Branch walks straight into a right hand from Kahnt - that's dropped him! Kahnt jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Branch from any more punishment! Branch complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

#R1# Merry fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Merry lands with a cross. #TD# Branch decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Branch winds up and cracks Merry with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Merry tries to roll over but Branch keeps him under control. Branch trying to control the pace. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#T1# Branch lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Branch is taking a breather. Merry says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.#T2# There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Branch has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Branch tries to pass to full mount but Merry defends it. #REF3# The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.#TD# Branch shoots in and bounces Merry off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Branch tries to free his leg and advance position but Merry is retaining full guard. #T3# Branch is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Branch working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Branch seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Branch distracts Merry with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Merry looking for a sweep. Not yet Merry, not yet. Branch slips nicely into half guard. Branch looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Merry with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. #T4# A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Branch controlling the action here. Ground and pound from Branch. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Branch perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! This is a sustained period of stalling by Branch. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Branch should have avoided that one. #TD# Branch manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Merry on his heels. He'll look to pass Merry's guard now, I'm sure. Merry being controlled here, momentarily. Branch slips nicely into half guard. Branch is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Merry can do to turn this around? Branch is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Merry! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Branch sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Merry tries to hold on but Branch postures up. Branch controlling his opponent. Merry really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Branch. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Branch landing shots from mount. Merry in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Branch content just to control the position here. #SUB# Branch has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. #TD# Branch closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Williamson to the mat! Williamson manages to get full guard. Williamson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Branch is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Branch sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Williamson's guard. Branch scores with a couple of good hammerfists. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Branch lands a nice short elbow. Branch trying to control the pace. Branch moves into full mount! Williamson won't be happy about that! #T1# Branch controlling from mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Branch has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Branch's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans.
