This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nielsen controlling the action here. It looks like Nielsen might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.#SUB2# Loveless is kicking away at Nielsen from the bottom - trying to push off and stand up. Nielsen grabs hold of a leg and drops back for a heel hook! The two fighters roll across the mat, with Loveless trying to push Nielsen off... Loveless taps! He's tapped! This one is all over! A throwback to the old Pancrase there with an infrequently seen submission hold! Nice work.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Heel Hook). Mathew Nielsen! |
